🇬🇧🇪🇸 Uranus - Urano : English Lesson
noun
“Oops, the video you wanted took a vacation. Here’s a random one that didn’t!”
Meaning of "Uranus" ("Urano"), detailed definition, and a short video lesson below.
Uranus is a huge, icy planet that circles the Sun far away from Earth. It is the seventh planet from the Sun, after Saturn and before Neptune. Uranus looks bluish-green because of a gas called methane in its atmosphere. It is made mostly of gases and ice, not rock like Earth, so you couldn’t stand on it. One very special thing about Uranus is that it spins on its side, like a rolling ball, instead of upright like most other planets. It also has rings and many moons, and it takes Uranus about 84 Earth years to go around the Sun just once!
If you tried to blow out birthday candles on Uranus, the wind would probably blow you out instead.
The weather app for Uranus would just have one button: “Too cold, stay inside forever.”
Our science book showed Uranus sideways, and my little sister asked if it had just slipped on a cosmic banana peel.
I made a travel brochure for Uranus that said, “Great views, no crowds, bring 800 coats.”
If Earth is our cozy home, Uranus is the super-faraway, super-cold vacation house nobody actually wants to visit in winter.
In the backyard, a child pointed a shaky telescope at the dark sky. Dad found Uranus, a small blue disc with faint rings. The child gasped: "Uranus?" Dad laughed, "Yes, Uranus, our cold seventh planet." They watched Uranus slowly spin. When the disc dimmed, the child waved, happy to have seen Uranus.
