📖 Christmas Eve Adventure
It was Christmas Eve, and the village was covered in white snow. Emily pulled her red hat over her ears and ran to the big tree in the square. The tree was covered with colourful lights, shiny stars, and bright silver bells.
Her friend Ben was already there, eating a piece of candy. “Look,” Ben said, pointing up. “They’ve put a golden star right at the top!”
That night, Emily left a plate of cookies and a glass of milk on the table. She also placed a small present by the window for the elf who, she had heard, sometimes helped Santa Claus.
When the clock struck midnight, Emily woke to the sound of soft jingling. She looked outside and saw a sleigh flying through the snowy sky, pulled by strong reindeer. Santa Claus sat in the sleigh, his big red hat blowing in the wind. An elf with pointy ears was beside him, holding a bag full of gifts.
They landed quietly in the garden. Santa stepped out, his boots crunching in the snow, and waved to Emily. “Merry Christmas!” he whispered. He left a gift under her small indoor tree and rang a shiny silver bell before climbing back into the sleigh.
Emily noticed something strange—one reindeer had lost a ribbon. She picked it up and ran outside. The snow was cold under her feet, but she didn’t mind. She handed the ribbon to the elf, who smiled and gave her a piece of striped candy in return.
The lights on the tree twinkled as the sleigh rose into the air again. The snow fell more gently now, and Emily decided to build a snowman. She rolled three big balls of snow, stacked them, and put one of her old hats on his head. For the final touch, she gave him a small cookie as a joke.
By morning, the village was buzzing with excitement. Children opened their presents, ate sweet cookies, and admired their Christmas trees with glowing lights and shining stars. Emily showed Ben the candy from the elf, and they rang the bell Santa had left for her.
That evening, as the snowman stood proudly in the yard wearing his hat, Emily thought about the magic of the night. She knew she would always remember the flying sleigh, the friendly reindeer, and the twinkling lights on the Christmas tree—but most of all, she would remember the smile of the little elf who had made this Christmas feel extra special.
