📖 The Journey Through the Animal Kingdom

Lucy loved animals more than anything. One summer, she visited a wildlife park that promised to show creatures from every corner of the world. From the moment she stepped inside, her adventure began.

First, she saw a huge bear sleeping under a tree. Its thick fur made it look warm and cosy. Near the bear, a playful monkey swung from branch to branch, making funny faces. Lucy laughed, and the monkey seemed to laugh back.

By the pond, a green frog jumped from one lily pad to another, while a long snake slid silently through the grass. Lucy shivered a little but couldn’t stop watching the way the snake moved.

Then she reached the aquarium. Inside the big glass tank, a friendly dolphin leapt high into the air, splashing water everywhere. In the next pool, an enormous whale swam slowly, its size so great that Lucy gasped. She pressed her hands against the glass, amazed by its beauty.

In the savannah area, Lucy spotted a tall giraffe stretching its neck to eat leaves from a tree. Next to it, a black-and-white zebra trotted across the grass. Their stripes looked like a painting.

Suddenly, something bounced across the path— a kangaroo! It carried a small joey in its pouch. Lucy watched as the kangaroo hopped away, strong and fast. Just a little further on, she saw a fluffy panda sitting quietly, munching on bamboo. The panda looked calm and happy.

But in the reptile house, things became scarier. A large crocodile lay very still, its mouth half open, showing sharp teeth. In another tank, a shark swam quickly in circles, its fin cutting through the water. Lucy stepped back, her heart racing.

She moved on and suddenly spotted a spider crawling in a web. Though it was small compared to the crocodile or shark, the spider’s eight legs made Lucy nervous. She kept her eyes on it until she reached the next enclosure.

There, a gentle donkey stood waiting for children to ride. Lucy stroked its soft nose, feeling safe again. Above her, a colourful parrot squawked loudly, repeating words it had learned. “Hello! Hello!” it cried, making everyone laugh.

Finally, Lucy entered the cold, icy zone. A group of penguins waddled across the snow, sliding on their bellies into the water. They looked so funny and cheerful that Lucy clapped her hands.

By the end of the day, Lucy had seen every animal: the strong bear, the clever monkey, the small frog, the slithering snake, the jumping dolphin, the giant whale, the tall giraffe, the striped zebra, the hopping kangaroo, the peaceful panda, the scary crocodile and shark, the crawling spider, the kind donkey, the talking parrot, and the playful penguin.

On the way home, Lucy whispered, “All animals are amazing in their own way.” And in her dreams that night, she travelled once more through the animal kingdom.
