Deep in the green forest, the bear walked slowly to the river. He was strong and calm, but that morning he felt curious. “I heard that the wolf is calling all animals together,” the bear said to himself.
By the time he reached the clearing, the wolf was already there, standing tall and proud. “Friends,” the wolf began, “something is happening in our forest. We must all meet and decide what to do.”
Soon, the deer came quietly, her eyes wide and gentle. She stood near the trees and listened. The deer was shy, but she wanted to help.
Then, with a great roar, the lion arrived. “I am the king,” the lion declared. “I will lead this meeting.” At the same moment, the tiger jumped down from a rock. “But I am just as strong as you,” the tiger argued. The two big cats looked at each other with respect.
Not long after, the ground shook. The elephant appeared, his steps heavy and slow. “Peace, my friends,” the elephant said kindly. “We are here to talk, not to fight.”
From the branches above, a monkey swung down, laughing. “Yes, let’s talk, let’s laugh, let’s share bananas!” the monkey joked. Some animals smiled.
Across the grassland, the zebra trotted up, black and white stripes shining in the sun. The zebra stood proudly next to the tall giraffe, whose long neck reached the leaves high above. “We see things from different heights,” the giraffe said. “But we both see danger too.”
The bushes moved, and a snake slithered forward, silent and careful. “Danger is everywhere,” hissed the snake. Close behind, the crocodile crawled from the river. “Yes,” the crocodile growled, “the water tells me the same.”
Near the pond, the frog hopped happily, croaking loudly. “I heard the news! I heard the news!” sang the frog.
From far away, the kangaroo bounded across the land, carrying her little one in her pouch. “I came quickly,” the kangaroo said. “We must protect our young.”
Above them, a small bird flew in circles. “I can see from the sky,” the bird chirped. “The forest is safe for now, but we must stay together.”
In the river, a silver fish jumped out of the water. “Don’t forget us!” the fish called. “The water is part of the forest too.”
Finally, as the moon began to rise, a bat flew overhead. “Night is coming,” the bat whispered. “I will watch while you sleep.”
All the animals—bear, wolf, deer, lion, tiger, elephant, monkey, zebra, snake, crocodile, giraffe, frog, kangaroo, bird, fish, and bat—stood together. They were different in size, in sound, and in shape, but they all shared one home.
That night, under the stars, they promised: “We will protect the forest, together.”
