It was a Friday night in London, and Emma was feeling very happy. She and her boyfriend Daniel had planned a special evening at a small Italian restaurant near the river. The mood was warm and lively, with soft music playing and candles glowing on each table.
When they arrived, the waiter greeted them with a kind smile and showed them to a window seat. Emma thought it was a lovely place. The walls were painted in soft colours, and fairy lights twinkled above. She looked at Daniel and thought he looked very handsome in his dark jacket. Daniel, in return, told her she looked beautiful and pretty in her dress, which made her blush.
They ordered their meal: pasta for Emma and steak for Daniel. To go with it, they chose a bottle of red wine, which the waiter poured carefully. Later, Daniel asked for a glass of champagne as well, saying that tonight was a special celebration. Emma raised her glass and smiled, enjoying both the drink and the company.
As they ate, they talked about their families, their plans, and the trips they wanted to take. The meal was delicious, and every detail in the restaurant added to the happy atmosphere. Emma thought it was one of the most lovely evenings she had ever had.
After dessert, Daniel reached under the table and pulled out a small box. It was wrapped in paper with a ribbon tied neatly around it. Emma gasped, her heart racing.
“This is for you,” Daniel said, sliding the box across the table. “But first, open this.” He handed her a small envelope. Inside was a card with the words, To the most beautiful person in my life. Thank you for being so kind and for making me so happy.
Emma’s eyes filled with tears. She opened the box and saw a shining gold ring inside. It sparkled under the soft light of the restaurant.
“Emma,” Daniel said, his voice steady, “will you marry me?”
She covered her mouth with her hands, smiling through her tears. “Yes, of course!” she said, almost whispering.
The waiter, noticing the moment, quietly brought over two glasses of champagne on the house. Around them, a few people clapped softly, sharing in the celebration. Emma slipped the ring onto her finger, admiring how pretty it looked.
The rest of the night passed in a blur of laughter, hugs, and toasts. The mood in the restaurant seemed even brighter now, filled with their joy. Daniel held Emma’s hand as they finished their wine and their final drink.
Walking home together, Emma thought to herself: This was not just a lovely evening. It was the most beautiful night of my life.
