📖 A Sweet Thanksgiving at Home
The leaves of autumn fell softly against the windows of the Parker family’s home. Inside, the air was warm and filled with the comforting smell of food slowly cooking in the oven. It was Thanksgiving, and everyone had gathered for a celebration of love, peace, and gratitude.
In the kitchen, Mrs Parker worked carefully to cook the meal. She checked the oven again and again, making sure the apple pie baked to a perfect golden crust. On the counter sat a sweet cake, decorated with cream and sprinkled with cinnamon, waiting to be shared. The children helped by setting an extra chair at the table for every guest who had been invited.
This year, the harvest had been good. The farmers spoke of strong crops, and baskets of apples, corn, and pumpkins were brought to the market. Mr Parker had bought some of the best apples, and they were now bubbling with sugar in the oven. “Nothing says Thanksgiving like apple pie,” he said with a smile.
The family had invited neighbours, friends, and even an old teacher from the village. Everyone was welcome. As the door opened and more guests arrived, the small home filled with the sound of laughter. People hugged, exchanged greetings, and sat close together, glad to share this day of celebration.
At the table, before the meal began, they joined in a quiet prayer.
