📖 The Castle School of Magic
Ella had always dreamed of learning magic, so when a letter arrived inviting her to a school inside a real castle, she could hardly believe it. The letter said to meet at the old railway station and take a special train that would bring her there.
At the station, she met a boy named Thomas, who would soon become her best friend. Both carried small trunks, and Thomas had a curious hat shaped like a star. They climbed aboard the train, which puffed out steam and seemed to move faster than the wind.
When they arrived, the castle rose high above the hills, its dark towers reaching into the clouds. Inside, a smiling teacher led the new students through a tall door into a huge room with floating candles and a warm fire in the centre. The fire seemed alive, flickering in strange colours.
Ella was given a book of beginner spells and a small wooden wand. “Treat your wand like a key,” the teacher told them. “It will open the world of magic to you.” She showed them their first spell, which could make flowers grow instantly. Ella practised over and over, while Thomas accidentally made his hat grow twice its size.
After lessons, the students explored the school. They found a dark corridor at the back of the castle. At the end was a locked door. “Maybe this is where the key comes in,” Thomas whispered. He held up a silver key he had found near the library. When he turned it, the door creaked open.
Inside was a small room filled with old books and dusty wands. A huge, ancient book sat on a table, glowing faintly. Ella opened it and saw that it contained powerful spells no beginner should know. One page even showed how to control fire with a single word.
Suddenly, the teacher appeared in the door. “Ah, I see you have found the Room of Forgotten Magic,” she said kindly. “It is not yet time for you to learn these things, but one day, you will.” She closed the book gently and led them back to the main hall, where the fire still burned brightly.
That night, as the students sat by the fire, wearing their warm hats and talking about the day, Ella felt certain she had chosen the right school. She had a friend, a wand, and a whole world of magic waiting for her — and one day, perhaps, she would return to that hidden room with the glowing book and the silver key.
