Amelia loved to travel. She had dreamed of taking a big trip, and now the day had finally come. She packed her suitcase carefully, making sure her clothes, books, and shoes all fit inside. She also had some extra luggage and hand baggage, but the bright blue suitcase was her favourite.
At the airport, she went to the check-in desk. The friendly woman there asked to see her passport. After checking everything, she gave Amelia her boarding pass. Amelia held it tightly; without the boarding pass, she could not fly.
She looked at the big screen that showed departures and arrivals. Her flight’s departure was at 10 a.m., but there was a small delay. She felt a bit nervous, but she knew delays often happened when you fly.
While she waited, she walked around the airport. She went into a shop and bought a magazine and some sweets. Then she sat in a small restaurant, ordered breakfast, and enjoyed some tea. She thought, “This is the start of my travel adventure.”
When the time came, she joined the queue at the gate. The crew smiled and checked her boarding pass. “Have a nice flight!” one of the crew members said. Amelia smiled back and walked onto the plane.
The plane was big, with many seats. She put her hand baggage in the overhead locker and sat by the window. Soon, the crew gave a safety demonstration. Amelia listened carefully.
Finally, the plane began to move. The departure was smooth, and she felt the excitement of the fly. Looking out, she could see the ground getting smaller and smaller. “I can’t believe I’m in the air!” she whispered to herself.
After a few hours, the arrival announcement came. The crew told everyone to put on their seatbelts. The plane landed safely, and Amelia clapped quietly, feeling proud.
At the new airport, she went to pick up her luggage. The moving belt carried many bags, but at last she saw her bright blue suitcase. She pulled it off the belt and smiled. All her baggage had arrived safely.
Outside, she took a taxi to her hotel. The driver helped her put her suitcase and luggage in the boot. After a short ride, they reached the hotel. Amelia checked in and went straight to her room. She was tired from the long travel, but she was also excited.
That evening, she went out again. She found a small restaurant near the hotel and enjoyed a delicious dinner. Later, she walked into a shop to buy a postcard. She wanted to write to her family:
“Dear Mum and Dad, the arrival was safe, the plane was great, and the crew were so kind. Tomorrow my real adventure begins.”
Amelia put down her pen, feeling happy. It had been a long day, full of check-ins, departures, delays, and even a taxi ride, but she was glad. Her journey had truly begun.
